Environmental engineering refers to engineering work specifically dedicated to environmental protection. As industrial development has caused environmental pollution, these are projects that, based on defined objectives and applying relevant scientific knowledge and technical means, address and resolve environmental pollution problems through organized activities. The main areas of environmental engineering include air pollution control, water pollution control, solid waste treatment and utilization, and noise control. SUFA valves are widely used in environmental engineering projects and are consistently recognized by customers.

Environmental projects include:

(1) The environmental protection industry: developing advanced environmental technologies and equipment, including wastewater and waste treatment, flue gas desulfurization (FGD) and denitrification (DeNOx), treatment of high-concentration organic wastewater, soil remediation, and monitoring equipment;

(2) The energy-saving industry: developing high-efficiency energy-saving technologies and equipment, including boilers and kilns, electric motors and drive equipment, and waste-heat and waste-pressure recovery equipment;

(3) The resource recycling industry: developing comprehensive utilization of associated and co-generated mineral resources and bulk industrial solid waste, remanufacturing of automotive parts and electromechanical products, and recycling of renewable resources.

Common areas of environmental engineering:

Air pollution control: reducing pollutant emissions into the air through flue gas purification equipment, lower emission standards, clean energy adoption and other measures.

Water pollution control: reducing water pollution through wastewater treatment facilities, water purification technologies and other measures.

Solid waste treatment: achieving waste reduction, resource recovery and harmless disposal through waste incineration plants, landfills and other facilities.

Noise control: reducing the impact of noise on people through sound insulation walls, noise reduction equipment and other measures.

Ecological protection and restoration: protecting the ecological environment and promoting sustainable development through forest conservation, grassland restoration and other measures.

Energy conservation and environmental protection: reducing energy consumption and pollutant emissions through energy-saving technologies and clean energy, promoting sustainable development.

The significance of environmental protection:

1. Preventing and controlling environmental pollution arising from production and daily life activities, including the "three wastes" (wastewater, waste gas and solid waste) discharged by industrial production, dust, radioactive substances, and resulting noise, vibration, odor and electromagnetic microwave radiation; harmful gases, liquids and noise from transportation; pollutants discharged by marine shipping; toxic and hazardous chemicals used in industrial and agricultural production and daily life; and pollution from smoke, sewage and garbage discharged by urban life.

2. Preventing environmental damage caused by construction and development activities, including pollution and damage caused by the construction of large water conservancy projects, railways, trunk highways, large ports and terminals, airports and large industrial projects; damage and impact on the environment from land reclamation and lake-reclamation farming, offshore oil fields, coastal zone and wetland development, and the exploitation of forest and mineral resources; and damage, pollution and impact from the establishment and construction of new industrial zones and new towns.

3. Protecting natural environments of special value, including providing effective protection for rare species and their habitats, unique natural heritage sites, geological phenomena and landscape features.

4. In addition, urban and rural planning, control of soil erosion and desertification, afforestation, control of population growth and distribution, and rational allocation of productive forces are also part of environmental protection. Environmental protection has become a common action and one of the major tasks of governments and people around the world today.

5. China has declared environmental protection a basic national policy and has formulated and promulgated a series of environmental protection laws and regulations to ensure its implementation. Priorities include comprehensive utilization of associated and co-generated mineral resources and bulk industrial solid waste, remanufacturing of automotive parts and electromechanical products, recycling of renewable resources, resource utilization of kitchen waste, construction waste, road asphalt and agricultural/forestry waste, and demonstration and promotion of key common technologies.
